The Bezà Mahafaly Reserve is founded on the idea of partnership, and we work closely with local communities to improve their livelihoods as well as to protect the forests. Your contributions will make a difference to these efforts.
Donations specifically designated for the Bezà Mahafaly Special Reserve can be made to the Ecole des Sciences Supérieures Agronomiques (School of Agronomy) at the University of Antananarivo. Please contact Dr. Jeannin Ranaivonasy (firstname.lastname@example.org) for detailed information about the routing of your gift. Although the University of Antananarivo is not a 501c3 registered charity in the US, it is a not-for-profit institution with good audit functions, and donors in the past have claimed charitable deductions for US tax purposes that have not been questioned by the IRS.
In addition to the long term and ongoing support of the Liz Claiborne Art Ortenberg Foundation, the Bezà Mahafaly partnership gratefully acknowledges support received in the past from the following organizations and individuals: John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation; World Wildlife Fund; USAID; the Pete and Marion Schwartz Foundation; Medical Care Development International; Morgan Davies, Russell Barbour and Will Julley.
