Monitoring Program

Since 1995, the Bezà Mahafaly Monitoring Team has collected systematic data on temperature and rainfall, the temporal and spatial dynamics of the flora and fauna, and the demography, socio-economy, and perceptions of the area’s human community.  Members of the Monitoring Team are from the area, and live in villages around the Reserve.  They bring to the task their own knowledge of the community as well as expertise acquired through formal training under the Monitoring Team Program.
