Financial Literacy Guide
Rahul Singh taught his financial literacy course for high school students using the FDIC’s curriculum packet, which covers savings and checking accounts, credit cards, car and student loans, and financial planning. The FDIC’s program includes both a student and instructor packet, and has optional computer-based interactive scenarios for each module. The FDIC packet is available at:

College Mentorship Program Guide
This is the guide that Lucia (Lucy) Arthur-Paratley developed for her fall 2012 college mentorship program at the Sound School. The mentorship project helped students for whom college was a possibility but for whom the reality depended on having additional support applying for admission and scholarships. The guide contains a wide rage of information on applying to colleges, including types of schools, degree options, writing personal statements, interview tips, asking for letters of recommendation, and financial aid. It also has worksheets to help students work through the application process.

Project H.O.P.E. (Hip-Hop as Our own Personal Escape) Curriculum Packet
This is the curriculum packet for Jasmine Simington’s Project H.O.P.E., a workshop she held for New Haven girls to talk about the culture of hip-hop and its impact on the upcoming generation. The workshop gave the girls a chance to critically analyze the words of some of their favorite artists, while also introducing them to new ones.

Chicken Noodle Soup
The review packet from Jennifer Ky and Katie Leiby’s project, Chicken Noodle Soup: Empowering Young Women, contains information and advice on nutrition, body image, self-esteem, mental health, and healthy relationships. Chicken Noodle Soup provided a safe, open environment for high school girls to discuss these issues. The Chicken Noodle Soup students also participated in interactive activities, including cooking a healthy dinner and creating collages about perceptions of beauty.
