Welcome students to the new ADAY site!
The ADAY site contains all news on all the going-ons on campus related to dance, information on all the wonderful dance groups, resources that can be utilized by students interested in dance, and much more!
We will keep a feed on all auditions, workshops, and shows taking place on campus under our “Dance Feed” section, but if you’re interested in joining a group this term, you will need to get in contact with the groups for how one can join. Otherwise, you will have to wait for their next set of auditions next fall.
“A Chorus Line”, this year’s commencement musical is in need of dancers! Gracie White and Eliza Dach are choreographing this fun project and are eager for you to take part! No singing or acting experience? No problem! They’ll be guiding you along the way. If you aren’t familiar with the commencement musical, here’s a brief overview: You stay on campus after finals end (housing is provided!) and you have 9 days to put together a full musical to perform during graduation weekend for the seniors and their families. You get to spend all your time focusing on a show without having to balance classes and other extracurriculars, which is unheard of during the rest of the year. It’s a wonderful way to meet a lot of new people and have a ton of fun. If you still aren’t convinced or have more questions, feel free to contact Gracie and Eliza. Auditions are this Monday and Tuesday (March 2nd and March 3rd)!
The Alliance for Dance at Yale (ADAY) acts as the umbrella organization for all the dance groups at Yale College, uniting the extracurricular dance community and serving as a connection between dance at Yale and dance in the New Haven community. Amongst our many dance groups at Yale, the following styles are represented:
- Chinese traditional dance
- Irish dance
- Musical theater
- Swing dance
- And so much more!
